Baking With Mari

Three in the morning

Bella woke Mari up in the middle of the night wanting something sweet, and would not take no for an answer.

So she got up and baked

Brown butter, chunks, sea salt. At three in the morning, because the dog asked.

Then the oven opened

What came out of it did not look like it came from a kitchen.

And that was the moment

One bite in, the business existed.

Now she drives them out herself

Hand to hand, nobody in between. Grand Falls, Route 66, downtown Joplin, Webb City.

Bella rides along as quality control

She has never once passed a batch without eating it.

Meet Mari

She bakes it, and you get the best thing that happens to you all week.

Order from this week’s bake

This week’s bake

What is coming out of the oven on Thursday 13 August. When it is gone it is gone — she bakes to order, not to stock.

How it works

1

Pick what you want

Tap it into your box. Prices are the prices — nothing is added at the end except delivery, if she is driving it.

2

She bakes it on bake day

Fresh that morning, in her own kitchen, in the quantity you actually ordered.

3

Collect it, or she drives it

You pay her when she hands it over. No card on file, no account to make.

Why it is not just another cookie

The protein is real, and it is printed

Every item carries its grams per serving. No blend of powder that tastes like a shortcut — it is in the recipe, and the number is on the page before you buy.

Ingredients you can pronounce

Real butter, real eggs, whole grains. No corn syrup, no filler bought to make the margin work.

Living cultures, on purpose

Her sourdough is fed weekly and it is alive. That is the point of it, not a label.

“F*cking great food, pretty decent prices.” — Actual Customer Feedback That is the register. Mari’s own reviews go here the day somebody writes one — we do not make them up.

The Munchies Club

Bella runs the loyalty program. She is not good at maths, so it is very simple.

The Baker’s Dozen

Every thirteenth order is on the house. No card, no app — she just knows.

Club members go first

Bake days sell out. Members see the list before anyone else does.

100%

Bella’s inspection

Every batch is sampled by the delivery driver. She has never once passed one without eating it.

The standing order

Tell her what you want and she sets it aside every bake day, with your name on it. No app, no card on file, no subscription to cancel — she just knows, and it is waiting.

Nothing is charged here. Mari messages you to confirm what and when, and you pay her when she hands it over — the same way she already trades.

How it reaches you

Two ways, and they are the only two. Collect it from her on bake day, or she drives it to your door.

Collect it

The Carthage square, north side, 4pm to 6pm on bake day. Nothing extra to pay.

She drives it out

Joplin, Carthage, Neosho, Webb City and Carl Junction. Delivery is charged — she confirms the fee when she confirms your order.

Worth the trip

It is one woman and one car. Order enough to be worth the drive and she will get it to you the same day she bakes it.

Ordering for a business?

Gyms, offices, car lots, senior living, the spas — a standing tray every week beats a vending machine, and everybody notices.

Tell her what you are thinking and she will come back with what she can do, what it costs, and how soon.

She reads these herself. Expect a real answer, including a no if she cannot do it yet.

Hi. I am Mari.

I am a nurse. I moved into a place with an oven I could finally use, and a dog who does not respect business hours. So I bake — real ingredients, actual protein, no powder that tastes like a shortcut.

If your week has been rough, I would genuinely like to be the best thing that happens in it.

— Mari

She is writing all of it down

The good bakes and the four dense loaves before she got the water right. If you are thinking of doing something like this yourself, that part is the useful part.

The journal

Live now, from the first batch on.

The channel

Filmed from day one. Not published yet — she is still learning the camera.

The kitchen table

A place to ask her things and swap what works. Coming, once there are enough people to make it worth having.

One message when there is something to watch. Nothing else, ever.

Before you ask

How do I pay?

In person, when she hands it over. There is no card form and nothing is charged when you order — you tell her what you want, she bakes it, you pay her for it.

When do I get it?

On bake day. She bakes to order rather than to stock, so ordering ahead is what gets you the thing you actually want.

Do you deliver, and what does it cost?

Joplin, Carthage, Neosho, Webb City and Carl Junction. Delivery is charged — she confirms the fee when she confirms your order. Collection is free and open to anyone in Missouri.

Why only Missouri?

Because that is the law she bakes under. Missouri cottage food rules let her sell straight from her own kitchen to people in Missouri, and an address outside it is one she is not allowed to take.

Is the protein number real?

Yes, and it is grams per serving, printed on the item. It comes from the recipe, not from a scoop of powder stirred in at the end.

I have an allergy. Can I still order?

Ask her before you order. It is one person in one home kitchen, so wheat, dairy, egg and nuts are all in the room — she will tell you honestly what she can and cannot do.

Are the dog treats safe for my dog?

They are made for dogs, and Bella tests every batch whether she is asked to or not. Ingredients are on the bag.

Can I change or cancel an order?

Message her. Before she bakes, it is no trouble at all — after she has baked it, it exists, and somebody has to eat it.

Hungry yet?

Pick what you want, stack it up, and she brings it round.
